ASIC proposes updates to guidance on ASIC RG 234

ASIC is proposing updates to its advertising guidelines, Regulatory Guide 234 – Advertising financial products and services: Good practice guidance, to ensure financial firms advertise products honestly and fairly. The proposed changes aim to simplify and streamline the existing rules by incorporating guidance from the separate RG 53 (on using past performance) directly into RG 234, and adding new content that reflects the outcomes of ASIC’s recent enforcement actions.

Stakeholders must submit feedback on the draft by 22 January 2026.  Read more here.
