ASIC’s Focus on FAR Accuracy
From August 15, 2025, ASIC is releasing an updated dataset to help AFSLs check and correct their records on the Financial Advisers Register (FAR). This new dataset will include information on advisers relying on the experienced provider pathway and their exam pass dates.
Licensees are legally required to ensure the information on the FAR for their authorised representatives is accurate and up-to-date, notifying ASIC of any changes within 30 business days to avoid late fees and potential offenses for providing false information.
ASIC’s spot checks have identified common errors, such as incorrectly marking advisers as eligible for the experience pathway or failing to accurately record qualifications and tax advice-related services. Read more here.
